About lafairbanks
L. A. Fairbanks was born and raised barefoot on a small farm in rural southeastern Washington: home to rolling fields of wheat, mountains of blue, hiding under the skirt of evergreens. She received a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science & Writing from Utah State University while living, traveling, learning from the world. Jobs have included the composting of wastes, the polishing of fine jewelry, teaching backcountry survival/backpacking skills, soil science lab technician (complete with geeky latex gloves, safety glasses and a lab coat), as well as publishing a few essays here and there.
When not in the studio, Laure can be found gardening, restoring an ancient house, climbing walls of rock, or creating magic with her nieces & nephews...
